Privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
Omimi is a space for some of the most personal parts of your life: how you feel, how you sleep, what you write. We take that seriously. This policy explains, in plain words, what Omimi keeps, where, and why.
The short version
- Everything you put into Omimi is saved on your phone first. Accounts are optional: with one, and only if you say yes, a backup is kept safely with your account, in the EU.
- We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to show you ads.
- No ads and no tracking across other apps. To improve Omimi, we count anonymously which screens are used and for how long, only if you say yes (change it anytime in Settings → Your profile). Never what you write or feel.
- AI is only used for Omimi members who allow it: you're asked once, and you can change your mind anytime. Without that yes, and on the free plan, nothing is sent to the AI.
- Emails only when they're useful to you: sign-in codes, a welcome, and news only if you ask for it.
- You can delete everything at any time in Settings → Delete account and data.
- Omimi notices patterns to support you. It never diagnoses you.
Omimi is not medical care
Omimi is a wellbeing companion. It is not medical care, therapy, counseling or an emergency service, and it isn't a medical device.
It doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in it is medical, psychological or other professional advice. The patterns, insights, reflections and AI-written notes are gentle observations from what you share, not assessments of your health.
Please talk to a doctor or another qualified professional about your health, and before making any decision about it or about medication. Omimi is never a replacement for professional help.
If you're in crisis or might hurt yourself, call your local emergency number or a helpline right away. In the app, SOS → Help now shows the emergency number for your region and a free helpline. You can also find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.
Who we are
Omimi is made by Natalia Wawrzyniak, based in Poland, who is responsible for your information under EU data protection law (the GDPR). If you have any question about your privacy, write to hello@omimi.app.

What Omimi keeps, and where
Everything below is saved on your phone, in the app's own private storage. If you have an account and turn on backup, a copy is also kept with your account (see “Accounts and backup”):
- What you tell us in the welcome: your name or nickname, why you came, your usual sleep times, what helps you, and your reminder choice.
- Your evening and weekly check-ins: mood, worry, sleep, energy, habits, what weighed on you and what helped, and anything you write in them.
- Your journal pages and your day log (the “+” on Home).
- Your test answers in Discover, and your results.
- Your plans and tasks, your SOS visits, and small notes about which parts of the app you used (for example, that you finished a breathing exercise), so Omimi can notice what helps you.
- Your settings, like your theme, your progress in games, and your reminder and alarm choices.
Accounts and backup
Accounts are optional, and Omimi works the same without one. You can create one in Settings → Your account with Sign in with Apple, or with your email address: we email you a 6-digit code, so there's no password. With Apple, you can choose to share a private relay address instead of your real one.
With an account, we keep your email address and when you signed in, so you can sign in again and get your Omimi back.
Backup happens only if you say yes to “Keep a backup?”, with or without an account. Then everything listed above, including your journal pages, check-ins and notes, is copied to our server: with an account, so it comes back on a new phone; without one, so it comes back if you reinstall Omimi on the same iPhone (your private guest sign-in is kept in the iPhone's own Keychain for that, nothing else). Because some of it is about your health and wellbeing, we only do this with your explicit consent, and you can withdraw it anytime: turn backup off, or delete your backup, in Settings → Your account.
Your backup is private to your account. No one else can read it, and it's never shared, sold, used to train AI, or looked through by us. Our server is run by Supabase, in the EU (Ireland), and your data is encrypted on its way there and where it's stored.
How Omimi uses it
Only to make the app work for you: to greet you by name, suggest something that fits your day, ask check-in questions that go a little deeper over time, and show you your own patterns in Me. All of this is worked out on your phone. For people without a membership, your journal is read only on your phone. For members who allow Omimi's AI, it also reads it (see below).
Talk with Omimi, your daily reflection, journal themes, the weekly note and the monthly letter are written by AI. AI can sometimes get things wrong, so please treat them as gentle companionship, not professional advice. In a crisis, SOS connects you with real people.
What leaves your phone
Almost everything stays on your phone. A few things in the app use the internet, only when you choose them:
- Omimi's AI (for members, only if you allow it: you're asked once with “Allow” or “Not now”, and you can change it anytime in Settings → Your profile). In Talk with Omimi: the messages of that conversation, your first name, and a few short notes Omimi has worked out on your phone (for example, that walks tend to help you), to write each reply and a short summary. In Me: your recent journal pages and the notes you type in your daily and weekly check-ins and in SOS (about the last six weeks), and short facts Omimi has already worked out on your phone about your day, week or month, to find themes in your writing and write your daily reflection, weekly note and monthly letter. In Journal: a free or guided page when you keep it (or first reopen it), to write its short summary. While you write a journal page or a check-in note, your words are also checked now and then, so Omimi can gently offer help if they sound like you might be in danger. These are sent securely to our server (hosted by Supabase, in the EU) and on to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI (Claude). We don't store them on our server; we only count how many AI replies and safety checks you've had today, to keep the service fair. Anthropic doesn't use them to train its AI and keeps them only for a limited time for safety checks (normally up to 30 days), then deletes them, as its privacy policy describes. Your charts, patterns and everything else in Me are always worked out on your phone. With AI off, nothing is sent and everything works on your phone.
- A private guest sign-in: to use the AI, keep a backup without an account, or link a membership to your Omimi, your phone gets an anonymous guest identity on our server (no name, email or password). It only lets the server know the request comes from Omimi.
- Help in a crisis: tapping the emergency number opens your phone's call app, and “Find a free helpline” opens findahelpline.com in your browser. Omimi picks the emergency number using your phone's region setting, on your phone.
- Payments: if you buy a membership or leave a tip, Apple (or Google) handles the payment; we never see your card or bank details. RevenueCat, the service that keeps track of memberships for us, receives your Omimi ID (a random code: your guest identity, or your account's), your Omimi purchases (which plan, when, and whether it's active) and your store country, so the app and our server know whether you're a member. No name, email or anything you write is shared with it.
- Sharing: if you share a quote or book page, your phone's share menu sends the picture wherever you choose.
- Backup: only if you say yes, a private, encrypted copy is kept on our server (see “Accounts and backup”).
- Reminders and alarms are planned on your phone and never sent anywhere.
- Crash reports: if something in Omimi breaks, a technical report (which part of the app, your phone model and iOS version), and a small sample of how quickly screens load, goes to Sentry, the service that collects them for us, in the EU. Never anything you write, and no name, email or IP address.
- Emails: if you create an account, Resend, the service that sends Omimi's emails, receives your email address (and your first name, if you gave one, for the welcome emails) to send your sign-in codes, one welcome email, and one membership welcome if you're a member.
- Omimi news: only if you turn on “Omimi news by email” in Settings → Your account. Your email address is then kept on our news list at Resend, and every news email has an unsubscribe link.
- Anonymous usage: to see which parts of Omimi help and which are confusing, the app can send PostHog (the service that counts it for us, with servers in the EU) which screens you open and for how long, which tools you use (for example, that a breathing exercise was finished), your phone model, iOS version and language, and a random code made on your phone. Whether you're a member (yes or no), and when you join, restore or leave a tip: which plan or amount, and whether it went through (never your payment details). From the welcome, only how you heard about Omimi and whether you wanted reminders. Never your name, email, account, or anything you write or feel, and no location from your internet address. This only happens if you say yes when asked. Turn it on or off anytime in Settings → Your profile.
- Pictures: the artwork shown on your lock screen while a sound plays is loaded from Omimi's website (omimi.app), which, like any website, briefly sees your internet address. Nothing about you is sent with it.
- App updates: Omimi downloads its own updates from Expo, the service that delivers them. Expo only receives technical details, like the app version and your phone model, to send the right update.
- Some of these services (Anthropic, Resend, RevenueCat, Sentry, PostHog and Expo) are based in the US. When your information goes outside the EU, it's protected by the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Every service we use (Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat, Resend, Sentry, PostHog, Expo and Apple) only gets what it needs for its job, and is bound by contract to protect your information at least as well as this policy does.
- Omimi news notifications: only if you switch on “Omimi news” in Settings → Gentle reminders, your phone's push address (a random code from Apple, passed on by Expo, the service that delivers them) and whether you're a member are kept on our server (Supabase), so we can tell you about rare big moments, like big new features. Nothing else is kept with it. Switching it off, turning notifications off, or Delete account and data removes it.
How long we keep it
- On your phone: until you delete it, or the app.
- Your account, backup, AI reply counts and push address: until you delete them in the app or ask us to. Delete account and data removes them right away.
- What Omimi's AI reads: never kept on our server. Anthropic keeps it for a limited time for safety checks (normally up to 30 days), then deletes it.
- Crash reports: deleted automatically by Sentry within 90 days.
- Anonymous usage: deleted automatically by PostHog within one year.
- Omimi news email list: until you unsubscribe or delete your account.
Why we may use it
Under the GDPR, we only use your information for one of these reasons:
- Your explicit consent: backup, Omimi's AI and its safety check, anonymous usage, and news by email or notification. You can withdraw it anytime in the app; that doesn't affect what happened before.
- To give you what you asked for: your account and sign-in codes, and your membership.
- Our legitimate interest in an app that works and gets better: crash reports.
Your choices
- Change your name anytime in Settings → Your profile, and your reminders in Settings → Gentle reminders.
- Members can allow or stop Omimi's AI anytime in Settings → Your profile.
- Turn backup on or off, or delete your backup, in Settings → Your account.
- Turn Omimi news on or off in Settings → Your account, or use the unsubscribe link in any news email.
- Sign out anytime. Your Omimi stays on your phone.
- Delete everything in Settings → Delete account and data: everything on your phone, and on our server your account (or guest identity), your backup, AI reply counts, push address and your place on the news list, in one step. It can't be undone. A membership is billed by Apple, so please cancel it separately in your App Store settings. Records of your purchases stay with Apple and RevenueCat, as the law and billing require, linked only to a random code.
- Skip any question in the welcome or check-ins.
- Delete a journal page anytime.
- Deleting the app removes everything on your phone. If you have an account with backup, your copy stays with your account until you delete it; to remove everything, use Delete account and data first.
Keeping it safe
Your data stays in Omimi's private storage on your phone, protected by your phone's own security, like your passcode, Face ID or fingerprint. Keeping your phone locked keeps your Omimi private too.
If you turn on backup, your copy on our server can only be reached by your own signed-in account, and it's encrypted on its way and where it's stored.
Children
Omimi is meant for people aged 16 and over, and asks you to confirm this when you start. It isn't designed for children. If you think someone younger has used Omimi, deleting the app removes everything they entered.
Your rights
You have the right to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your personal information, to limit or object to how it's used, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Everything is on your phone, so you already hold it (and in your backup, if you chose one), and Settings → Delete account and data deletes it all, on your phone and on our server. If you have a question or request, write to hello@omimi.app.
If you live in the EU, you can also complain to a data protection authority: in Poland, that's the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl). People in other places, such as some US states, may have similar rights, and we respect them too.
When things change
If we make any important change to this policy, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. And we'll always ask your clear permission before anything new that you write leaves your phone.
